The Department of Criminal Justice Education, adhering to the Isabela State University Philosophy recognizes the significant role in enriching relevant and responsive pedagogy in the field of Criminology. The Department of Criminal Justice Education became prominent in its respective field in providing quality instruction and effective trainings and seminars that will develop a progressive pedagogy for those who are deserving and to keep abreast with the oppugn of the changing times and apply talents and modern techniques in Criminology, Law Enforcement Administration, Public Safety Administration, Law, Forensic Science, Correctional Administration, Criminal Justice System and Jail Management. The Department of Criminal Justice Education at Isabela State University, Cabagan campus traces its coming into being in the year 2006. This came into existence during the administration of Dr. Richard C. Ramirez, as the cluster executive officer and with the very impressive initiative of the Dean of the College of Development Communication and Arts & Sciences, Dr. Aleth M. Mamauag through the refulgent leadership of the Chair of the Department of Social Sciences, Prof. Josefina C. Balmaceda on the same year. Reminiscing the auld lang sine, the Department was under the umbrella of the College of Development Communication and Arts & Sciences and known as Department of Criminal Justice Education. The Department offered the four-year degree Bachelor of Science in Criminology. With the degree program offering the Isabela State University, Cabagan campus, became prominent as the major preference Higher Education Institution in the Northern part of Isabela and nearby provinces for those students who aim to pursue the degree program Bachelor of Science in Criminology. The extremely good and deserving to be admired and copied performance of the Department in board examinations commenced during its young stage, graduates of the Department started to show their unique luminance barely after four years the degree program was offered. Since then, graduates of the Department managed to take the top places in the regional level in the Licensure Examination for Criminologist. In addition to what has been said, it consistently maintained its high reputation by its good passing percentage way above the national passing rate. Because of the constantly reverberating performance of the Department of Criminal Justice Education the unparalleled desire of the core of faculty of the Department, they finally pursued in bringing into existence the Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement Administration in June of 2013. In August 1, 2018, specifically first semester of 20018-19, the Department of Criminal Justice Education finally was renamed the College of Criminal Justice by virtue of the Board of Regents no._____, S. of 2018. This is in view of the issuance of CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) no. 21, s. of 2005, which provides: “ A rationalized College of Criminal Justice in the country that shall include degree programs in Criminology, Law Enforcement Administration, Correctional Administration, Industrial Security Administration, and Forensic Science among others.” With the deepest desire, sincerity and genuine service of the College of Criminal Justice to provide high quality education in the respective field of Criminology by demonstrating excellence in providing quality instruction, research, extension and linkages and Institutional qualifications, the Isabela State University, Cabagan campus gave its utmost support to the current faculty and staff of the College of Criminal Justice to continuously strive to uphold its status guided by its ideals, principles and standards of the University.
